Gambaran Penderita Morbus Hansen Di Kota Jayapura

Morbus Hansen is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae. This disease is a type of granulomatous disease that attacks the peripheral nerves, mucosa of the upper respiratory tract, and skin. If left untreated, leprosy can be very progressive, causing damage to the skin, nerves, limbs and eyes. Leprosy has a negative impact that causes material loss for sufferers. This study has a purpose to look at the characteristics of leprosy patients in Jayapura City. The sample of the study came from 12 health centers (Puskesmas) in Jayapura City and patients with leprosy during the period July to September 2018. Data were taken to analyze the data using descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate that the highest prevalence rate per 10,000 population and the highest Case Detection Rate / CDR value in Jayapura City is Puskesmas Imbi. Key word; leprosy, disease
