Improving Student Speaking Ability Using Information Gap Activity For Eleventh-Grade Students Of SMA Negeri 4 Jayapura

This research was aimed to know the use of Information Gap Activity can improve students speaking ability in the elevent grades at the SMA Negeri 4 jayapura, and the use of Information Gap Activity during the teaching and learning process. This research is conducted of four meetings in the class. The subject of the research were 35 students for each class in XI ipa 5 and XI ipa 6. The instrument used a test. The data were collected in the research is quantitative, the quantitave data were analyzed the mean score of pre-test and post-test in the experimental class and control class, the standard deviation and the t-test using SPSS 29.0. the results of the research showed that the pre-test and post-test in experimental class was 65.57 to 78.29, and control class 65.34 to 73.29. It means the use of Information Gap Activity can improve the students speaking ability. Furthermore, the information gap could grab the students attention, be focused during in the class, and enjoy in teaching and learning activities.
